Other issues
- Windows 7 does not always boot, sometimes it is stuck at the "Starting Windows" screen with the boot animation running. Not sure what's happening in the background, maybe an update solves the issue?
- Installing Windows 7 SP1 is only possible using the USB2.0 ports. If the flash drive is plugged into a USB3.0 port it is not detected by Windows Setup.
- Windows 8.1 works in IDE mode only! Selecting AHCI mode causes I/O errors and soft lockups during installation (this is noted in vendor manual, too, it's not a coreboot issue).
- Windows 8.1 "fast startup" needs to be disabled to avoid lockup on boot or install KB2903939 to fix the issue (only x86 version & SeaBIOS affected). The 64-bit release is not affected.
- USB keyboard works with USB3.0 ports only when using Tianocore - probably some timing or compatibility issue. Other devices (like flash drives) work fine in all USB ports.
- Tianocore is not able to save settings to NVRAM due to the missing implementation in CorebootPayloadPkg. Settings are only saved to RAM and thus are not preserved after a shutdown.
- In order to have early graphic output on HDMI display make sure to set a VESA mode supported by both the adapter and the display device. HDMI devices might have limited support for legacy modes using 4:3 aspect ratio (eg. 1024x768x32). For example, the TV this board was tested with only supports 640x480x32 mode besides the usual 16:9 resolutions.
