coreboot (formerly known as LinuxBIOS) is a Free Software project aimed at replacing the proprietary BIOS (firmware) you can find in most of today's computers. It performs just a little bit of hardware initialization and then executes a so-called payload. We currently support ca. 200 different mainboards (v3: 16, v2: 120, v1: 64, some duplicates included).
10!
Anton Borisov has made an interview with the original developers (german version) as the Open Source PC firmware celebrates ten years of activity!
